Khao Lak Viewpoint, the view on Sunset Beach. The view stretches all the way to Pakarang Cape at the far end.
Khao Lak South Beach
is located at the southern end of the Khao Lak Lamru National Park. With a length of approximately 2kms it is the shortest of Khao Lak's beaches but yet the one with the most tropical atmosphere due to its surroundings being dominated by big limestone boulders on the southern end.
"Poseidon Bungalows", where a mangrove river divides Khao Lak beach from Tap Lamu Beach.
Khao Lak Sunset Beach
is located at the south end of the Khao Lak Town or Ban La-On as the locals call Khao Lak. The beach is nice and with low tide quite wide. Also it is the most photographed beach as you can see it directly from the viewpoint (see image above). The beach is only accessable by one of the resorts which dominate the complete sunset beach. Seawater is clear in high season.
Nang Thong Beach
is the second beach a Khao Lak visitor will find when travelling north coming from Phuket and is the 3km long. This is the busiest beach in Khao Lak due to the fact that Khao Lak tourism started here with a small bungalow resort.
Nang Thong Beach features one of Khao Lak's most picturesque stretches of sand named "Happy Lagoon".
Bang Niang Beach has developed from a backpacker heaven to Khao Lak's high society beach since the 2004 Tsunami. The simple bamboo huts have been replaced by stylish resorts and exclusive private homes.
Khukkak, Pak Weep and Bang Sak Beaches are the quietest and least developped beaches in Khao Lak. Several lagoons and rivers divide the beaches, which are in some areas extremely broad.
Khuk Khak and Pak Weep Beach are divided by an interesting cape known as "Laem Pakarang".
Laem Pakarang Pakarang means coral in Thai. It is a very picturesque and dream-like
cape with a road dividing the public beach from private land plots and resorts.
Due to its rich natural resources and a geographically interesting shape, Laem Pakarang
is the perfect spot for relaxing beach walks and snorkelling excursions.
A small part of this beach called White Sand Beach. Here you can find some good
Restaurants and a bungalow resort.
